Henry McHenry: an independent academic who grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, graduating high school in 1968 and Yale in 1972; took the PhD in English Language, Literature and Pedagogy at UVa; taught prep school for twelve years in Alabama; and now lives with his wife of forty-four years outside Charlottesville, Virginia. After twelve years with Upward Bound there, he served for two decades as a substitute in the city and county school systems, has taught Shakespeare at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for eighteen years, and still leads exercise classes for the Parks and Recreation Department.
